Automated Testing & Quality: Establish comprehensive automated test coverage (PHPUnit for backend, Playwright and Vitest for E2E/components) integrated into CI/CD pipelines to guarantee zero regressions.
Mentorship & Code Reviews: Conduct thorough, constructive code reviews and collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, and leadership to elevate team standards.
Experience: 4+ years of professional full-stack web development experience, with at least 1+ year actively incorporating AI coding assistants into daily engineering workflows.
Backend Expertise (PHP & Laravel): Strong commercial experience with PHP 8+ and Laravel (clean service architecture, queues/jobs, middleware, and OAuth2/Passport authentication).
Frontend Mastery (Vue 3 & Nuxt 3â4): Deep proficiency in modern Vue 3 (Composition API), Nuxt 3 or Nuxt 4, TypeScript, Pinia state management, and Tailwind CSS.
Database & ORM Skills: Strong relational database modeling and query optimization in MySQL, along with solid experience using ORMs (Doctrine ORM / DBAL or deep Eloquent experience with the ability to adapt to Doctrine quickly).
API Design & Caching: Deep understanding of RESTful / JSON:API standards, server-side validation error mapping, request formatting, and Redis performance caching.
AI-Native Workflow: Active daily use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Gemini) as a force multiplier for coding, debugging, and test creation.
Automated Testing: Hands-on experience writing backend test suites (PHPUnit) and frontend/E2E tests (Playwright, Vitest, or Cypress).
DevOps & Tooling: Solid working knowledge of Git, CI/CD release pipelines, Docker containerization, and Linux/container environments.

Senior Platform Engineer modernizes and maintains the AWS cloud infrastructure powering a multi-million user digital health platform, improving reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
At Luscii, we are creating space for care by building digital health applications that help people manage their health. Applications such as OMRON Connect. Together with healthcare professionals around the world, we build technology that helps users receive the right care in the right place. Millions of people rely on our products every month, and behind every reliable healthcare experience is a cloud platform that simply works. As our Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a vital role in modernising the cloud platform that powers OMRON Connect, creating a more reliable, scalable and future-proof foundation for millions of users worldwide.
OMRON Connect is one of the largest digital health platforms in our ecosystem, connecting millions of users with their healthcare data through OMRON devices. Much of the platform has grown over many years and was partly built by external partners. Today, weâre investing heavily in bringing that knowledge, ownership and technical excellence in-house. This is not about replacing everything overnight. It is about making thoughtful engineering decisions, modernising step by step, and building a cloud platform that gives our engineering teams the foundations, tooling and confidence they need to deliver safely and independently.
Your work will have a direct impact on the reliability, scalability and cost-efficiency of a platform serving several million monthly active users across the world. You will help shape our cloud and engineering standards, introduce modern practices where they genuinely add value, and make Infrastructure as Code, observability and safe continuous delivery the default rather than the exception. By creating reusable infrastructure, improving developer experience and removing unnecessary complexity, you will help teams move faster without compromising reliability or security. Along the way, you will collaborate with engineers, influence technical direction and leave the platform in a significantly better state than you found it.
You will become one of the technical driving forces behind the cloud platform powering OMRON Connect. Rather than owning a single product or service, you will help build the foundations that every engineering team relies on. Working closely with backend engineers, product teams and colleagues in Japan, you are going to evolve our AWS platform, improve the developer experience and ensure reliability, security and scalability are built into everything we do.
This is a role for someone who enjoys solving difficult engineering problems without chasing complexity for complexityâs sake. You will help us balance innovation with pragmatism, modernising a live healthcare platform while maintaining the stability that patients and healthcare professionals depend on every day.
What you will be doing, among others:
Design, build and evolve our AWS platform using Terraform as the single source of truth, while driving the gradual modernisation of our cloud landscape;
Build reusable infrastructure, deployment pipelines and platform tooling that enable engineering teams to ship independently and safely;
Introduce pragmatic cloud-native and event-driven solutions where they genuinely improve scalability, reliability and maintainability;
Make observability a default through standardised monitoring, logging, dashboards and alerting across the platform;
Improve deployment practices with automated CI/CD, progressive delivery and reliable rollback strategies;
Embed security, compliance and cost optimisation into the platform through automated guardrails and best practices;
Coach fellow engineers, review infrastructure and application code, and raise the overall cloud engineering bar through collaboration and example.
The responsibilities outlined above reflect how we currently envision this role. As we continue to grow and evolve, the scope and focus of the position may naturally change, influenced by your own ideas and insights. The way we work is built around the belief that everyoneâs input matters. If you see opportunities to improve the way we do things, or believe a process could be designed differently to achieve a better outcome, we encourage you to bring those ideas forward. Discuss them with your teammates, challenge the status quo, and help shape how we move forward together.
Read more about working at Luscii / OMRON and how we work as a team. Together, we are working on a mission to create space for care. Freedom, autonomy and ownership are of great importance in this. You are responsible for your own results and work according to the principles of Holacracy. Luscii is part of OMRON DH; together we built for the long term. To work on making healthcare better.
Salary: Naturally, this depends on your background, experience, and relevant expertise. Weâll discuss your salary expectations together with the benchmark weâve got in place for this role during the initial phone screening after you apply, as the salary is not strictly predetermined in advance.
Remote-first: Work from anywhere in The Netherlands. We stay connected through monthly in-person team days called Assemblii.
Flexible setup: Create your own ideal workspace. Whatever works best for you - weâve got you covered here.
⌠probably doesnât exist, but if you can tick most of the checkboxes below, please apply! We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of complex technical challenges, makes pragmatic engineering decisions, and is excited about helping others succeed along the way.
You know when to step up, when to involve colleagues and when to move forward decisively. Working independently does not mean working in isolation for you. You feel at ease being both a self-starter and a committed team player, contributing to shared goals while taking responsibility for your own domain. You value open communication, transparency, and mutual trust.
You have at least 6 years of experience building and operating large-scale cloud platforms, with deep hands-on AWS expertise and including the same amount of experience in senior-level ownership of modern cloud architectures;
You have extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and treat infrastructure with the same rigour as application code;
You have a strong understanding of cloud-native, serverless and event-driven architectures, and the judgement to apply them pragmatically;
You know how to build reliable production systems with observability, automated deployments and safe release practices built in;
You enjoy modernising legacy platforms through incremental improvements rather than big-bang rewrites, while bringing others along in the process;
You have strong backend engineering experience, preferably with Node.js and TypeScript;
You are open to working in a Holacratic organization and curious about our way of organizing work, roles, and responsibilities;
English is our primary language for all internal communication at Luscii, so youâre fluent in that language.
Would you like more information? Feel free to contact our recruiter BjĂśrn Bogerd via bjorn@luscii.com
We organise three interviews for each vacancy. It is an extensive process, but we want to ensure that there is a good fit in regards to a potential collaboration, our culture and our way of working. All interviews are conducted online and the entire procedure is planned in advance to keep momentum.
