Support Customer Experience Engineer, L1 at HackerRank

Investigates and resolves technical customer issues across platform APIs and integrations while using AI tools to accelerate debugging and prevent repeat problems.

Junior Posted about 4 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

HackerRank helps companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, and Microsoft hire and upskill the next generation of developers based on skills, not pedigree. Our platform is trusted by over 2,500 of the world’s most innovative companies to build strong engineering teams ready for what’s next.

Software has entered an era where humans and AI build side by side. As this shift accelerates, the definition of strong technical talent is changing. We give companies better ways to identify and invest in next-generation skills.

People at HackerRank care deeply about the impact of their work and sweat the small details so our customers can be wildly successful with products they genuinely love to use. We move with urgency and believe great outcomes come from high standards.

About the role

Customer Experience Engineering is where customers, product, and engineering meet. As a CXE 1, you’ll investigate real technical problems across our platform, APIs, integrations, data, and customer workflows. You’ll learn to trace issues to root cause, communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, and build the judgment to own increasingly complex work independently.

This is not a traditional support role built around scripts and handoffs. You’ll work in one shared CXE queue, use AI as part of your everyday engineering toolkit, and contribute to the knowledge, automation, and product improvements that prevent repeat problems. CXE 1 is designed as a transition into CXE 2 as your depth, independence, and customer readiness become consistently visible.

What you will do

  • Own standard and moderately complex customer issues from first investigation through resolution and closure.
  • Debug web application, API, integration, authentication, configuration, and data issues using logs, developer tools, SQL, and established investigation patterns.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically across tickets, calls, incidents, and internal channels; ask precise questions, set expectations, and close every loop.
  • Work with CXE 2 engineers on complex, high-risk, or enterprise cases, taking on greater ownership as your readiness grows.
  • Create structured escalation reports for confirmed product issues and stay accountable for progress and customer closure when Engineering is involved.
  • Use AI tools safely to accelerate investigation, validate hypotheses, improve responses, correct support-agent outputs, and strengthen team knowledge.
  • Turn learning from customer issues into better documentation, runbooks, product feedback, and small automation or tooling improvements.
  • Protect shared queue health by prioritising accurately, meeting service levels, documenting work cleanly, and helping rebalance work across shifts.
  • Participate in rotational shifts and on-call coverage, including occasional evenings or weekends, to support global customer needs.

Who you are

  • A recent graduate or early-career engineer with up to 3 years of relevant experience. Strong freshers are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong programming fundamentals and comfort reading code; experience with Python, JavaScript, Java, or a similar language.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP, web applications, and how software systems communicate.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and an interest in using data to investigate and validate behaviour.
  • Curious and systematic: you want to understand why something failed, not just make the error disappear.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator who can explain technical ideas in plain language to customers and engineers.
  • Comfortable asking for review when risk or uncertainty is high, then applying the feedback quickly.
  • Open to rotational shifts and occasional on-call coverage across a global customer base.

Even better if you have

  • Built a project, script, bot, or automation that solved a real problem.
  • Worked with logs, observability tools, cloud platforms, SSO/SAML/OAuth, or third-party integrations.
  • Used AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar and can explain how you validated their output.
  • Contributed to an open-source project, hackathon, internship, or production codebase.

You will thrive here if

  • You enjoy ambiguous technical problems and are persistent enough to find the real cause.
  • You care equally about technical correctness and how the customer experiences the resolution.
  • You learn fast, seek feedback, and turn new knowledge into repeatable practice.
  • You solve rather than route and take pride in leaving no loose ends.

Support Jr. Customer Success Manager (Remote) at Process Street

Junior CSM builds customer relationships, guides onboarding and implementation, and ensures customers achieve value from the product.

What this role involves

Who we are

Process Street is an AI software and compliance operations platform startup from San Francisco. We help our customers build, document, automate, and track recurring workflows. Our platform automates the work, enforces the standards, and proves compliance so our global customers can run their businesses. We service over 3k customers around the world, and are VC-backed by Accel, Salesforce, and Atlassian.

Our mission:

To make recurring work fun, fast, and faultless for teams everywhere.

Our culture:

Process Street was founded on a strong belief in the work-life benefits of a healthy, collaborative remote culture. We value flexibility because many of us are parents, travelers, or just creatives who aren’t inspired by the construct of a mundane 9-to-5. Spread across 9 different time zones, we communicate asynchronously, work autonomously, and take real ownership of our work. We know human connections are what make teams strong, so we regularly do coffee chats, game-playing, story-telling, and more, to build strong relationships.

If you’re entrepreneurial and seek an environment that values impact, ownership, and flexibility we look forward to meeting you!

Where and when you’ll work

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based outside of the United States. Because you’ll be supporting US-based customers, you’ll work US business hours - primarily Pacific Time (PT) - with the flexibility to support customers across PT, MT, and CT.

The Opportunity

This is an early-career Customer Success role, and a great way to grow into the craft alongside an experienced team. You don’t need to have experience as a CSM before, but you do need to genuinely love working with people, solving problems, and a real curiosity about how people and companies operate.

Customer Success sits at the heart of Process Street because our customers tell us where to go. You’ll be one of the people closest to them, helping them get real value from the product and grow with us over time. Some customers start small and grow into huge, multi-departmental rollouts, and you’ll be a central player in making that happen. No two customers look the same, and that’s the fun part.

What You’ll Do

  • Build trusted relationships with customers, learning how each one works and where they want to go.
  • Plan and guide new customers through implementation, onboarding, and training.
  • Support existing customers by answering questions, highlighting new features, and running Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Contribute to support systems, such as in-product guides, webinars, and our Help Center.
  • Work closely with other departments to bring the customer voice into the product roadmap and strategy.
  • Identify expansion and referral opportunities through the relationships you build and think creatively about how to act on them.
  • Track the numbers that matter, like churn, time to first value, and net promoter score.
  • Experiment with new strategies, tools, and AI to help customers (and yourself) to work smarter.
  • Always keep our value of Delighting Customers top of mind.

About You

  • You bring real customer experience! You’ve worked directly with customers or clients before and loved it.

You come from a startup, entrepreneurial, or build-it-yourself environment. You’re scrappy, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity.

  • You’re a self-starter who’s driven by goals, not tasks. You don’t wait to be told the next step. You set your sights on an outcome and keep going until you reach it.
  • You think strategically and creatively. You spot new opportunities, think outside-of-the-box, and actively work toward those opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to you.
  • You love building relationships. You’re genuinely excited to talk to people, learn how their teams and companies operate, and find ways to help them work better.
  • You experiment with AI and new tools. You’re already using AI and automation to get things done, and you’re constantly leveling up. You’re curious about technology, you tinker, and you bring that energy to helping customers build creative, complex workflows.
  • You love to learn and help others learn. New ways of working energize you, and you bring a positive attitude that lifts the people around you.
  • You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator. We’re a 100% distributed team, and writing is our primary method of communication. But you’ll be chatting with customers and teammates live too!

Our Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO policy – Most take 3-4 weeks, plus their major holidays, AND a company-wide week off in December.

  • Social time – Regular coffee chats, games, story-telling, house tours (only if you’re comfortable), and more to build connections.

  • Generous health insurance for US employees and their families.

  • Equity for all full-time roles.

  • A chance to shape how companies around the world run through the future of no-code automation.

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we’ll let you in on a secret: there’s no such thing as a ‘perfect’ candidate. Process Street is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to equal opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, gender, gender identity, genetic information, parental or pregnancy status, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or Veteran status.

Role Overview

We’re hiring an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join our Help Desk team. This is an entry-level role that is perfect for someone beginning their IT career who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced technology environment. As part of the IT Support team, you will be on the front lines supporting team members across the organization — solving everyday technical problems, building relationships, and delivering excellent service.

Core Responsibilities

End-User Support & Customer Service

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical difficulties via phone, email, chat, or in person.

  • Provide friendly, patient, and professional customer service to end-users at all levels of the organization.

  • Log, track, and resolve incoming help desk tickets in a timely and thorough manner.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end-users across multiple locations.

  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff with detailed documentation of steps already taken.

  • Follow established procedures and knowledge base articles to resolve common support requests.

Equipment & Setup

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices for new employees.

  • Support basic account provisioning and access requests under the guidance of senior IT staff.

Documentation & Knowledge

  • Document common issues, resolutions, and how-to guides to help build out Help Desk knowledge base resources.

  • Follow and help maintain IT procedures and standard operating documentation.

Other

  • Assist the IT team with day-to-day operational tasks and project support as needed.

  • Execute other duties typical of an entry-level IT support role as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • 0–1 year of IT support, help desk, or customer service experience (internships, co-ops, and volunteer experience welcome).

  • Basic understanding of Windows and/or Apple operating systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.

  • Eagerness to learn, troubleshoot, and adapt to new technologies.

  • Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.

  • Associate’s degree, certificate program in IT/Computer Science, or demonstrated equivalent experience or self-study.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, EntraID Azure, M365 Suite

  • Any experience with a ticketing system such as Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or similar.

  • CompTIA A+ certification or currently pursuing.

  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in IT, cybersecurity, or infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate

A curious, people-oriented individual who genuinely enjoys helping others and solving problems. You don’t need to have all the answers — you need the drive to find them. You take ownership of the tickets you touch, communicate proactively, and leave every interaction better than you found it. You’re comfortable asking questions, learning on the fly, and growing with a team that will invest in your development.

Application Note

This role will include routine help desk responsibilities and other duties assigned consistent with entry-level IT support. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply — if you are passionate about technology and helping people, we want to hear from you.

Fleetworthy is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture that is respectful and welcoming of individual differences. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion or belief (or lack thereof), sex, nationality, national or ethnic origin, civil status, age, citizenship status, sexual orientation, disability, genetic information, familial status, marital or registered civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity status, gender identity, gender reassignment, military or veteran status, or any other protected characteristic in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
